![]() Same goes for their architecture: something that exists in more dimensions than ours is strange and almost impossible to imagine. In the video, around the 16 minute mark and ahead, the vlogger talks about how a being of higher dimensions can exist our perceived dimensions, and thus be unfathoble and powerful. There is this dude on youtube who did an explanation on what higher-dimensional beings might behave like to us, who live in three physical dimension and one temporal: Lovecraft used words like "non-euclidean". Mathematicians can use math to describe 4-dimensional (or more) objects. For an artist to be able to describe something that is more than 3-dimensional, on a 2 surface, things become real difficult. We have no good, simple ways of describing objects that exist in more than those 3 physical dimensions. The problem with representing "non-euclidean geometry" as Lovecraft put it in pictures is that we as a species have found ways to only describe 3d shapes (buildings, etc) in 2d images (paper, screens). Sure, there's man-made architecture that is both unnerving and awe-inspiring, but it is not really something that would drive a person insane. The blog you linked to doesn't really cut it for me. I always imagined it to be more like the "Penrose steps" as show in the movie Inception: not reality being warped in ways that are impossible for humans to construct.
